Every phpdocx version includes new features and improvements. Previously unsupported features may have been added to newer releases, or past issues may have been corrected.
If I have a template that have a border/frame (I don't know the correct word in english), can I somehow change the color, size, etc with template variables?

There's not an option to do this; but you can create the template and change WordML opening the DOCX file (remember DOCX is a ZIP fie) and adding a new placeholder. Then you can replace the placeholder using phpdocx.
